English Churches in Pune

All Saints Church in Pune


In 1869 All Saints Church was constructed in the British rule and the then Governor was a regular to the church. The flags are still conserved with much care. The glasses are crafted with beautiful designs with colors. The glasses and the wooden articles were brought from Europe other parts of the world. The structure is built with stones except the pulpit and it is beautiful to watch. The church still preserve the records of birth, marriage, death certificates issued from the year 1869. The church holds prayers in English, Marathi, Malalam and Marothma.

Methodist Marathi Church in Pune


The church was built by an American Methodist Missionary and the church started from the follower's house in 1872. The first building was dedicated in 1886 by a Reverent. The renovated Oldham memorial church opened in 1971. The new building is fitted with glass which is full of pictures. The other things that need to be seen are the Cross, Alfa and Omega on the table, 7 Light and Greek Cross.

The Church of the Holy Name in Pune


The history of church goes back to 1885. A tourist wrote in 1917 that this church will stand second coming. The church is built with bricks on the basilica. The Church's tower is 130-feet high. The clock tower has eight bells. 'Jesus' is inscribed on the bells which were made in England.

Christ Church in Pune


This Church is one of the biggest in the state of Maharashtra and it has 2,000 members on its roll. In1831, a missionary established the Church. In the beginning the prayers were conducted in bungalows of schools, missionaries and in a place which is taken on rent in a nearby street. A new building for the church was constructed in 1895 with more space and further extension was done in 1979. The administration started a kindergarten section in 1989 and later upgraded into high school.
