Pune Airport, also known as Lohegaon Airport, located about 10 kms from the main city is managed and controlled by AAI. All the domestic and international flights are operated from the civil area of Lohegaon Air Base of Indian Air Force (IAF).Pune is well connected with other cities of India through airways as well. Spice Jet, Air India, IndiGo, etc offer great services for domestic travel. The airways is not well developed in terms of international flights as there is minimal operational service. Pune is directly connected to only two foreign cities, Dubai and Frankfurt. The travellers have to take other international flights from Mumbai airport.
There are various prepaid taxis, prepaid autos, private car rental services and intercity bus services available to and from Pune airport.
Another option to reach Pune is to take flight from the origin location to Mumbai and then travel to Pune by road, which takes about 2-4 hours depending on the mode of transport.

Travel by Rail
Pune has excellent railway services connecting to almost all major cities of India. There are regular trains to and from different parts of the country that touches the city. Pune also comes under the Deccan Odyssey destination.Pune houses three railway station among which one is at the center of the city and the other two are in Shivajinagar and Ghorpari area. Apart from the express trains, the local trains connect Pune with Pimpri-Chinchwad and the hill stations near the city.
