Providing better health amenities with prolonging healthy life is the prime responsibility of every sovereign government at national and international fora. Health services are placed as one of the top most accountability of government in its agenda.
The Public Health Department under Government of Maharashtra is the prime authority looking after the health of citizens of Maharashtra. The department is continuously involved in initiating various health policies and schemes to provide appropriate health services to the citizens on the norms declared under National Health Policy. While introducing these schemes proper attention is paid to cater the medical needs of the people residing the rural area particularly in the tribal and backward areas.

To provide adequate and qualitative preventive and curative health care to the people of the State.

To ensure greater access to primary health care by bringing medical institutions as close to the people as possible or through mobile health units, particularly in the under-served and backward districts.
